The week ending 22nd August delivered a clearance rate of 98% from the 281 auctions reported for the period (based on REIV data). At the same time last year, a mere 95 auctions were reported while Victoria battled through its second wave of the pandemic.
138 homes sold at auctions and 136 sold before auction, with 7 passed in. 220 properties were withdrawn from sale and 527 auctions were postponed.
Current restrictions across Victoria are having an ongoing impact on the State’s housing market. In the past week, industry figures have called upon the State government to allow one-on-one inspections to take place.
