Buying a property in Southbank can be a daunting and difficult process. For many of us, it is something we only do a few times in our lives.
A buyers advocate (also known as a buyers agent or property finder) can be an enormous help to make it easy to buy a home or investment property by:
- removing the stress and frustration of buying a home
- saving you time and allowing you to get your weekends back
- saving you from having to deal with the tactics of real estate agents
Questions such as “where can I find a home I can afford”, “am I paying too much?”, “where can I find someone to bid for me at auction” are easily answered with the assistance of a buyer’s agent specialising in the Southbank area.
A buyers advocate can manage the entire buying process for you or, where you have found a property, negotiate on your behalf with the agent or bid at auction for you.

One of Melbourne’s inner suburbs is Southbank. Located close to the Central Business District, it has a population of 18,709 as of 2016. It is considered an urban neighborhood boasting of high rise apartment and office buildings and home to many major corporations.
Southbank used to be a swampy area prior to European settlement. Infrastructures were constructed between the 1860s and 1920s and these included factories, warehouses, wharves and bridges. Princes Bridge was the area’s very first bridge followed by the Sandbridge Bridge.
New towering office buildings were built in the 1990s. Since then, more corporations began opening offices in the suburb. Significant heritage buildings are also in place. They are situated in the Arts precinct such as the Victorian Arts Centre and National Gallery of Victoria, some parts of the Victorian College of the Arts campus and the Victoria Barracks and Malthouse Theatre. There’s also the Jones Bond Store constructed in 1888.
Southbank offers many notable attractions one of which is the Ophelia structure. Created by Deborah Halpern, the sculpture is often used in Melbourne’s tourism campaigns.
The Melbourne Recital Centre boasts of cutting-edge architecture and sstate-of-the-art technology. It is known for its honeycomb exterior.
The Eureka Skydeck 88, on the other hand, offers a 360-degree floor-to-ceiling views of the Melbourne CBD, sports precinct, Docklands among others.
Those looking for entertainment can check out Southgate, a restaurant, shopping and entertainment precinct. Thise three-level area features bars, cafes and restaurants.
There’s also the Crown Entertainment Complex which covers two whole city blocks. Luxury shops such as that of Bulgari, Burberry, Chanel and Prada can be found here.
The suburb of Southbank can be reached through a network of major roads. These are the West Gate Freeway, north-south arterials, east-west arterials, secondary internal main roads and other small roads.
