Brunswick East is an inner suburb of Melbourne situated just 5km north of the CBD. It forms part of the City of Moreland and at the 2016 Census its population was 11,504 (2016 Census Quickstats). Public Transport Brunswick East is a very accessible suburb for anyone using public transport. Along popular Lygon Street, the numbers 1 and 6 trams travel to and from the CBD. The number 96 tram passes through Nicholson Street and travels all the way to St Kilda Beach via the city. While the suburb does not have a train line passing directly through it, neighbouring suburbs include stations that connect seamlessly with tram and bus services frequenting Brunswick East.
